Ambitions Gymnastics

Our Vision is that all children (have the opportunity to) participate in gymnastics programs, giving them the best possible foundations for life

Programme Description

The following outlines our comprehensive programme and range of classes to support the development of the widest range child participation opportunities.

Teeny Tots

A wonderful programme full of exploration and play for our youngest members. For children aged between 18 months and 3 years, parents/guardians assist young children as they learn all about how their bodies work using bright and colourful equipment with friendly and enthusiastic coaches. We introduce participants to running, jumping, skipping, rolling, turning, swinging and more. Gymnastics at this age is a great complement to other developmental activities and can really help build confidence in young children, develop balance and coordination as well as gross and fine motor skills. It’s also a great way for parents to meet new people.

Prep Gym

A pre-school programme for children aged 3 to 4 years. Parents/guardians can sit back and watch at their little one has lots of fun while learning some basic gymnastic skills such as forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, swings, balance beam walking and lots of other wonderful life skills. As with all our programmes, these classes promote confident body movement and help children learn in an environment that is encouraging and structured.  Introducing young children to sport and physical activity early can help instil a love of movement early on and gymnastics gives all children a great foundation for any sport they may want to do later in life.

Jumping Jacks

A beginner gymnastics class for school aged children aged 4 years to 7 years. Our colourful and varied equipment combined with an enthusiastic and energetic coaching team creates a wonderful environment for children to learn gymnastics in. Our classes are jam packed with activities and children can expect to learn handstands, cartwheels, forward and backward rolls, bridges, jumping, swinging, balance and much much more. Our programme changes weekly and designed to help children progress through the sport according to their own ability. We use our own certification process to track gymnast’s progression, and we do ‘testing’ twice per year.

Advanced Jumping Jacks

This class is by invitation only. If we think that children have progressed beyond the basic skill level of Jumping Jacks and need challenging a little more with the skills they are learning, we will ask them to move to Advanced Jumping Jacks. The premise of the class is much the same as Jumping Jack, still lots of fun and variety, however there is greater attention to detail and more focus on technique. We also introduce more advanced skills.

Cool Kids

A fun beginner programme for older school aged children 9 – 14 years. We work with the abilities of each child to help them have a positive and encouraging experience learning gymnastics. We understand that not all children are headed to the Olympics but that they all have hopes and dreams and our supportive and energetic coaching team, helps our older members achieve these. We offer certification once a term so members can track progression and we challenge each child according to their own development and progression.

Trick Stars

A fast-paced programme for children aged 6 to 14 years. Trick Stars is very popular with boys but is a mixed class. With less focus on traditional gymnastics technique and more on learning ‘tricks’, jumps and parkour style moves, this class is lots of fun for all participants. We still offer certification so members can track their progress and we encourage all participants to progress according to their own ability. Trick Stars is a great complementary programme for children involved in other sports such as swimming, football and martial arts.

Bright Stars

An invitation only class. Bright Stars is a pre-competitive class. Gymnasts are selected based on their natural ability in the sport and we have a range of ages and abilities. We place emphasis on correct technique, strength and conditioning and helping members achieve high levels of competency.
